John King Carter
Organist / Choirmaster
John Carter is a native of Greenville, Alabama, where his family lived for many generations. In high school he studied with noted organist and composer Harold Rohlig at St. John's Church, Montgomery. He received the Bachelor of Music degree in Piano from Birmingham-Southern College and has held musical posts in Episcopal, Catholic, and Lutheran parishes in Montgomery, Birmingham, Cincinnati, and Tampa before coming to Holy Family in 2009. In 2012, he received the Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Reinhardt University. His choral compositions have been performed around the country and at Salisbury Cathedral in England. He also sings with the Atlanta Schola Cantorum and maintains an active teaching schedule. John lives with his terrier, Surge in midtown Atlanta.
Michelle is a Georgia native; born and raised in Gwinnett county. She resides in Ellijay and is the mother of three ambitious and successful children - Callahan, Alston, and Lauren. Hired at Holy Family in 2009, she shares her love of God, people and life in her work. Her vast background includes experience in retail, business management, public relations, and marketing. An avid college football and marching band fan, you will either hear her cheering "Go Dawgs" or "Roll Tide." Her future plans include dusting off her tennis racket and learning to play golf.
